The Mount Royale Hotel is situated at the top of The Mount, which is one of the oldest and most picturesque approaches into the historic City of York.
Founded by Richard and Christine Oxtoby in 1967, the hotel was formerly two private houses built during the reign of William IV (1830 - 1837). To this day the Oxtoby family and their staff continue to offer a friendly, warm and professional service, which is highly rated by customers new and old.
The hotels public areas are delightful; whether it be the relaxing coffee lounge, cosy bar with roaring fire, or restaurant with its cosmopolitan style and ambience and exceptional menus.
Every bedroom is unique in its own way, they all have their own character and no two are the same.
